About M/E Systems Engineering
Mechanical & Energy Consulting Engineers
Our goal is to design systems for buildings that perform well, are simple to maintain, and represent a good value. We strive to provide engineering services that are technically sound, timely, and reasonably priced. We have extensive experience in HVAC, direct digital control, plumbing, medical gas systems, energy management, Title 24 energy code compliance/documentation, photovoltaic, solar hot water, and geothermal heat pump systems.
We are also familiar with the requirements of the many regulatory agencies that impact our work, including the California Division of the State Architect, California Energy Commission, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development.
M/E Systems continues to pioneer new mechanical and plumbing system concepts. M/E Systems has provided the engineering and related LEED documentation for both the Shasta Builders’ Exchange Green Resource Center (a LEED-certified commercial improvement) and the Hill Country Medical Clinic (a LEED-Gold medical office). M/E Systems designed the plumbing and HVAC systems for the new LEED-Platinum Redding School of the Arts. This innovative 60,000 square foot campus consumes no fossil fuels, using an extremely cost-effective and energy-efficient “hybrid” geothermal heat pump system for all heating and cooling. It is expected to use 40% less heating and cooling energy than standard high-efficiency systems. Using ultra-low-water fixtures, solar hot water, and reclaimed rainwater, the building’s plumbing design will annually consume only 18% of the domestic water of a standard new school and discharge less than half of the wastewater.
